Claims Manager
This section is not completed. Once it is, these two sentences will be removed.
If you click Main -> Billing Functions -> Claims Manager you will be taken to the Claims Manager search screen.
You can search by age of the claims, payer, plan name, patient last name or portion thereof, first name or portion thereof, billing status - whether it has been queued or billed and date of service.
Once you have entered the search criteria and click on "Search Claims", you will be taken to another screen that displays the claims meeting the criteria you have entered.
On this next screen you can further narrow your search by age of the claims and also by payer.
From here you can also start a new search by clicking on the "New Search" button.
Clicking on the "Aging Summary" button will take you to another screen that shows you the list of payers of the claims you were displaying. You will also see the amounts owed by each payer on bills that are 0-30, 31-60, 91-1200, and over a 120 days old and will see the total amounts owed by each payer.

You will also see the total number of bills by payer.
Returning to the search result screen, one can put a check mark in front of one of the bills and then click on the "Post Check" button. This will take you to another screen where you can chose the name of the payer, the check number, the total amount of the check which is entered next to total amount, the amount paid on the bill which is entered under payment and the copay. If you have entered all the data correctly and then click on "Post", it will take you to another screen from which you can "Return to Search", start a new "Search", display an "Aging Summary" and "Return to Billing Functions". If you return to the previous search results, you will see that the display now shows the updated information for this account and it shows the remaining balance from the secondary payer. If there is no secondary payer, the account is no longer displayed.

You can then filter these claims by clicking on the underlined payer and service date. You should be able to filter by patient name but this feature is not working right now.
If you click on the underlined number in the "Claim" column, you will be taken to another screen where you can see the claim details. On this screen you will see three buttons.
Clicking on "Add Event" will take you to another screen where you can add a claim event such as a call or email to the patient or insurance company and an attached note.
Clicking on "Return to Search" will take you back to the previous search result screen.
Clicking on "New Search" will take you back to the original Claims Manager search screen.
