FreeMED in Enterprise Use

Many of our downloads are from larger organizations looking to see if FreeMED has application in the enterprise structure.

We believe that FreeMED is indeed ready for enterprise wide use and distribution. It can be run as standalone or as an ASP. There are projects using both 0.8.x series and now 0.9.x series which function in an ASP model.

The most important step in any Enterprise undertaking is understanding the role this program can play in an Enterprise setting. FreeMED was designed to allow physicians to aggregate and to communicate data so that they might be empowered by their own data. It was the vision that physicians would use this data for self improvement, patient care improvement and general practice norming and improvement.

There are many data exchange facilities built into FreeMED and many others, by way of the data structure, waiting to be found.

FreeMED is a community developed physician community driven software application for the medical practice. It can function as a management tool, a n EHR/CMR or as a billing system. Because of the modularity of FreeMED many application functions can be removed with out significantly impacting the core.
