The FreeMED Software Foundation, Inc is a 501(c)(3) non-profit company, incorporated in the state of Connecticut, with the goal of enhancing the opensource medical software community through research, development and adoption of FreeMED and associated medical informatics, electronic medical records, and practice management software.

The Foundation has both a Board of Directors and a Community Clinical Advisory Board.

Board of Directors

The Board of Directors meets every two weeks, and includes both medical providers and medical informatics experts. FreeMED and its future are guided by this group and its council.

Community Clinical Advisory Board

The Community Advisory Board is an open organization of physicians and other medical providers who use their knowledge of their medical profession as well as knowledge of medical informatics to improve the Foundation's open source medical software through peer review and comment.
